Plastic-bonded injection molded magnets
Flexible magnet solutions for precise and complex shapes.
Plastic-bonded, injection molded magnets are made from a blend of magnetic powder (e.g., NdFeB, ferrite, or SmCo) and thermoplastic polymers (e.g., PA6, PA12). Using the injection molding process, highly precise, complex, and thin-walled shapes can be manufactured – even with integrated metal inserts or shafts.
While their magnetic performance is lower than that of sintered magnets, they offer excellent mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, and good resistance to corrosion. Depending on the material system, isotropic or anisotropic magnetization is possible.
Typical applications include sensors, micro motors, automotive systems, household appliances, medical devices, and mechatronic assemblies. Plastic-bonded magnets are ideal for high-volume production and automated assembly lines.
